In today’s account from the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, the Jews in Israel were in a dilemma. Because of the great corruption among the people and their disobedience to God, their nation was weakened both spiritually and militarily. In threat of imminent invasion, instead of getting their spiritual selves together and repenting for their sin they consoled themselves in the promises of false prophets that promised that peace, not destruction, was at hand. This is human nature in action, because often when people are faced with the unknown or are in difficult situations a natural tendency is not to face the facts, but instead hold to a  HOPE  that  'Everything Will (somehow) Be All Right.' Many people hold this same thinking about what happens after they die. Instead of getting right with God, they choose to HOPE that everything will (somehow) 'Just Work Out' because doesn’t heaven await all that do good?? And everything will also (somehow) be  'OK?' That may ...

It is always a boost when someone speaks an encouraging word. Into our life! Like when your Mom or Dad said, “I believe in you!” or a good friend uttered needed words of affirmation in a tough time of “Don’t give up! You can do it!” or a teacher who praised you for doing something well. You see, just as honey is sweet to the taste as it comes into the body, words sweetly spoken and received minister to the spirit. Words of encouragement and positivity are powerful ways to bless others and also create an environment in the world of wholeness and peace. Friend, at every opportunity Choose Sweet Words! Reflect that just as words of encouragement and affirmation gave you what you needed in a time you needed it, that you likewise can pass that same uplifting spirit upon others. A popular phrase today is FOMO, the   “Fear Of Missing Out.”   This is especially true in this fast-moving age when you don’t want to lose out on riding the wave of the next big tech stock or crypto currency explosion or not be first on having or doing the latest tech. Jesus met a young man that had everything - position, power, and money - but when asked if he would give it all up to follow Christ he declined because he was afraid to “Miss Out” on all the great stuff he was enjoying in his life - and many in our modern-day world are no different. For many of us, especially those living in first-world societies the convenience and luxury of life IS indeed appealing. Elegant homes, luxurious cars, fine clothes and high-profile lifestyles - as nice as they are - are a powerful draw away from the long-term view of the distinction between mortal life and immortal life. Like the 'Rich Young Ruler' in today’s scripture verse, the allure of life in the  Here-And-Now  can ea...

At first glance, it’s easy to interpret today’s verse that if you do not 'Work Out Your Faith' by doing acts of service then you are deceiving yourself about what it takes to be a Christian and be saved. Taken by itself that seems clear, but in order to really understand what the Bible teaches it’s always important to compare scripture with scripture. For example, Ephesians 2:8 says that “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” and Acts 16:31 tells us that all that is needed to be saved is to believe in Christ. That’s all that the thief on the cross next to Christ did! He did no 'Good Works' of service to God in his life, yet by his simple confession of faith, he also was saved. So given that, let’s take a look at this verse instead this way… What if the question is “What Part Of The 'True' of 'Do' means to You?” That is, what is your attitude about what 'doing' does for your relationship and pe...

We’ve all done this. While typing something we don’t like we use control-z to easily 'undo' our mistakes. And even if we make a LOT of mistakes, we can just keep hitting control-z over and over again until all our errors simply go away! Unfortunately, the mistakes of our life are not so easily undone, and maybe you - like me - have also experienced this as well... You’re really tired and trying to fall asleep, but your mind is replaying past mistakes that you wish you’d had never made and now regret - but can’t undo them because there’s no “control-z” to make them go away. You see, we are All Sinners (Romans 3:23) and Everyone Has Made Mistakes and we cannot “control-z” them away by performing good works or doing moral deeds of our own self-righteousness -but God can - and here’s how and why… When Jesus died on the cross, the Bible says that His blood was the payment to wipe away and “UNDO” the sins of everyone that would believe, accept, receive, and confess this as an atonem...

The return of Christ to rule and judge the world will be the most significant event in history. When that day comes, the Bible says that there will be two groups of people left on earth, and they will be distinguishable by the MARK that is placed on them. One group will be asked to accept a mark on the right hand or the forehead by the Anti-Christ, but those that refuse the 'Mark of the Beast' God will save and write a new name on their foreheads. Jesus says in Matthew 13 that the former group will be taken into everlasting banishment away from God (Matthew 13:41,42) but “The righteous (shall) shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” (v43) The next thing Jesus said was: “He Who Has Ears to HEAR, Let Him HEAR.” As Billy Grham famously and repeatedly said, “Today is the Day of DECISION,” and what you choose to HEAR, BELIEVE, and DECIDE is a choice everyone makes either consciously or unconsciously. Jesus said that as the Good Shepherd that 'His Sheep Hear His ...

Years ago, a cleaver scheme bilked high-worth investors out of millions — and they did it by continually Telling The Truth. Here’s how it worked... Thousands of letters were sent predicting that certain stocks would shortly have spectacular gains. Not everyone was told the same stock, and in the next mailing only the people that had received last week’s 'correct prediction' received another 'prediction,' and so forth. This went on until there was a small group left that had received several 'Truthful and Accurate' stock tips - and then the trap was set! These were then asked to invest a minimum of $100,000 in a private stock offering that was guaranteed to double in the next 30 days. Of course, there was no such stock and the thieves that made the promised gains disappeared - along with their millions. This too is exactly how Satan works. He presents Oceans Of Truth, but secretly and cleverly mixed in is a pint of poison that always leads to loss. Jesus said th...

If you were to ask most people, “Why will you be going to heaven?” the answer is usually   “Because I am a good person.”   In theory that sounds reasonable and logical because if ‘God is Good’ and ‘I Am Good’ then everything should be OK, right? And since everyone knows about the ‘Golden Rule’ most assume that should comprise all that Christ taught and all that is required. However here is where people go wrong. Yes, of course, being a good person is always an admirable goal. We all need to treat others as we would be treated, to be kind, generous, and respectful of others and leave the world a little better than we found it, and by all means if you are living your life like that you are on a good path. Leading and leaving a life of good works is a  worthy EARTH-LIFE mission , but it is  not an ETERNAL-LIFE saving mission. Yes, God indeed wants us to lead honorable lives, but it is not high moral standards or good works that justifies you being before God in heaven! ...

Most people are not Gamblers in the truest sense of the word, but many people take the biggest gamble of their lives by  “letting it ride”  on what happens after death. In this high stakes table game of life, instead of going with a sure return on an investment in eternity, they just   'toss the dice'    and assume the best. If you are one of those people, this is the   RISKIEST BET YOU COULD MAKE . The truth is that if you are depending on always throwing a “seven” or getting three bars on that heavenly slot machine,  you’re wrong!  Just like in a regular casino, people that play these games are set up to  LOSE , but there is one investment that will always make you a winner, and that is to place it  ALL  on Christ. You see, when Christ died on the Cross he covered that sure losing bet on your life, but here’s the thing!  You have to choose to accept His offer to cover the loss of your soul. Friend, don’t be a...
