When people speak the truth in a hostile world there can be a price to pay. In today’s scripture excerpt, Stephen,  “…a man full of faith”  (Acts 6:5) was selected by the growing church in Jerusalem to speak out against the popular religious and political leaders in authority. The only letter that differentiates the words WORD and WORLD is the letter   “L” , so the question is what does the   “L”   stand for? And the answer is   LIE. When God spoke and  “The Universe Was Created by the WORD of God”  (Hebrews 11:3) it was perfect and without error or evi L .   Ask most people and they would agree to believe that: Most people are good, not bad Good usually triumphs over evil Murder is wrong While perhaps there are many other things that we can agree on, one difficult event for most people to believe in or accept is that Jesus Christ conquered death and rose from the grave — and this is where Jesus’ question in today’s verse in John chapter eleven is a point of contention and controversy. In fact, the entire New Testament hangs on this fact, that if Christ did NOT rise from the dead, then the entire message of the Gospel — redemption from sin and death, and eternal life — are a silly and senseless point.
