When people speak the truth in a hostile world there can be a price to pay.

In today’s scripture excerpt, Stephen, “…a man full of faith” (Acts 6:5) was selected by the growing church in Jerusalem to speak out against the popular religious and political leaders in authority. Despite his detailed, impassioned, articulate and truthful exposition of God’s Word, as today’s verse sadly records, they closed their minds or hearts to the truth of God’s Word and instead responded by attacking him with angry screams and publicly killing him in front of the city.

Stephen was the first Christian MARTYR, but this word is not defined just by someone subjected to criticism, persecution, or even death.

In the original language 'martyr' means 'to be a legal witness to something or someone that is true.' Interestingly enough the end result of martyrdom - just as with Stephen and the early church - instead was to greatly MULTIPLY the truth of the Gospel and cause the eventual world-wide spread of Christ’s church to the entire world!

Friend, the price of martyrdom always becomes the spring of revival.

While we can mourn the suffering of Stephen and many others like him over the last 2,000 years until TODAY, we can thank all that have paid the ultimate price for their faith to continue opening the way of the Kingdom of God to the world.

As believers, God has called us to “be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.”
Acts 22:15

  1. - Is this about Charlie Kirk, the Martyr?

    hi friend -

Steven WAS a martyr for Christianity - and for Christ's Glory and the Glory of the cross - on earth.

Charlie Kirk was about being anti-woke for the money

and raising Republican votes from University Students

It's what he was paid for.

It's interesting when someone follows the MONEY ☝️

Here is one of Charlie's videos - I just pulled a random one - for people reading who want to know who he is - his own words

If you click on his name you get all of them 👇

please make yourself at home and tell me where you find a man in love with Christ, proclaiming his glory from the cross for the salvation of souls

Some call Charlie a Christian martyr - but be did not die for Christianity - and he did not die for me.

Charlie died defending his freedom to tell us that Christianity is Fundamentalist, Conservative, Evangelical and Nationalist.

That Science and homosexuality are demonic and must both be banished

that you must always - always - pay for a woman everytime you date

because - her place - after all - will be in your home and in your kitchen - her singular purpose, to make babies for you and for the Kingdom of God....

And - that given a level playing field - black people are less qualified to be good pilots and doctors - because there are not enough intelligent ones out in the natural world to qualify fairly without Affirmative Action or DEI

Oh yes - and that Christianity is Republican.

Nationalism has it's own Martyr's - the history books are littered with them - and every now and then, a new attempt is made to resurrect language that makes 'those' ones there - 'them' - the problem.

The problem we have to deal with in order to return God's Grace to us - and to return the glory of the Kingdom.

Jesus points us to an individual path of Salvation

Love God. Ask God to show you how God loves you. Try to love yourself and others in this same way. Forgive. If you cannot forgive, ask for help. Ask for your own forgiveness. Pray.

So then each of you shall give an account of himself to God.

When people claim to speak on behalf of God - yet harbour personal ambition at the expense of Compassion, empathy and Love - they eventually also stand before the same God

May God have mercy on our souls

    God bless
