Don’t Make A “TITANIC” Mistake
For decades people have had been captivated about the sinking of the TITANIC.
Although this disaster happened over 100 years ago there has been an endless stream of books, articles, and movies made on this famous ship and the souls lost in the ensuing tragedy. The question however is WHY are people continually fascinated by this ship — and the reason why is history repeating itself.
The Titanic was in one sense a modern day version of the Tower of Babel — that is, an achievement of such stupendous accomplishment that promised safety from aquatic danger while also boasting the brilliance of man. Those that created and sailed on Titanic were proud of it’s touted invincibility, and just like the builders of the ancient Tower of Babel boasted that another great flood would never overcome it, the Titanic builders also boasted no water could ever sink it.
People in the same way live the voyage of their lives like passengers on the Titanic.
On their ‘Ship Of Life’ most believe that since all is well and there is no apparent danger there is therefore nothing to worry about. Since ‘Life Is Good’ they feel like their ship will just keep sailing on a seemingly ‘unsinkable ship’ and their later fate is not in danger. However just like those blissful passangers on HMS Titanic this is a False Assumption, because the grim reality is this.
Eventually, everyone’s ‘ship’ eventually hits the iceberg of mortal death — and like Titanic — there is nothing we can do to keep our soul from sinking to a grave down under. Instead, the only hope for our soul is to be Rescued, and the only other ‘ship’ that can SAVE SOULS is JESUS.
If the phrase “Jesus Saves” always seemed unclear perhaps you can see it now, because this is exactly what this means. While your MORTAL BODY WILL DIE, Jesus can SAVE YOUR SOUL from certain death; but you have to make two decisions.
First, decide and admit that you cannot save yourself. The best swimmer can not swim out of a sea of their sin. Second, believing that Jesus is “The WAY The TRUTH and the LIFE” (John 10:10) and that “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
If you have read this far, make the decision right now to recognize that you and the ship you are on will not save you!
DON’T MAKE A TITANIC MISTAKE!
Instead know that the ship you are on will sink, believe in your heart that Jesus is offering you a seat on the (eternal) LIFE boat, and get on that boat! Ask God to forgive you of your sins and He Will Save You.
Friend, the lifeboat of salvation is awaiting you by confessing Christ as your Lord and “Save-Your!” When you do, your soul can — and will — sail safely into eternity.
God Bless Your Day
Jesus Loves You
